The things that makes CU CHAMPION so much more educative are the resources and information that are given out to the volunteers. I find the course material on the e-learning platform to be very informative! All in all, I believe that it is important for all healthcare professionals to understand the other aspects of patients’ lives, even if it is out of the profession that you are studying, in order to provide a more holistic approach when diagnosing and treating the patients.

I can feel the beauty of multidisciplinary cooperation. For instance, I had came across several participants who had serious emotional fluctuations during the event due to either their mental disorders or things that come up to them as we carry out the questionnaire. At these moments, we have friends from social work to help out. This experience really improves our belief in what we are doing and will make us more caring and focused healthcare professionals.

I would say CU Catalyst (e-learning platform) has provided a special opportunity in this summer. I used to talk softly but I have improved a lot my communication skills after I have to wrap up the summary for the elderly. They require our patience and caring. Nevertheless, I became more caring and helpful in my daily life in ways when I accompany with elderly.
